Candy Shop!

The new issue is up at Paper Issues today... Candy Shop! I am a lover of all things sugar, and I have to say that Easter has some of the best candy of all the holidays! So, in honor of Easter candy everywhere, here's an Easter basket made of Blossom twine from The Twinery!

The basket is made by wrapping a balloon in twine soaked in a simple syrup of sugar and water. Is anyone interested in a tutorial? I'm thinking of making some smaller baskets this week and putting one together. It's a little involved, but they last forever. My grandma made the grandkids each one over 20 years ago and I still have mine in perfect condition! Here's a few close-up shots of the basket...

During this issue, Paper Issues is also giving away an awesome candy-colored kit full of Dear Lizzy Neapolitan goodies, twine from The Twinery and some other trims. Have you seen that cloud vellum? It's my absolute favorite! You just have to like them on Facebook and follow the PI blog- get bonus entries by linking up a project or sharing the giveaway! You have until March 31 to link up your Candy Shop projects! Don't forget... when shopping in the Paper Issues shop, use code PEARTREE to save 20% on your entire purchase! (<---See it on the button over on the left? Thanks, Tamara!)

I hope everyone is enjoying weather as beautiful as we are this weekend. We were flying kites in our yard barefoot in March this weekend- unheard of in Michigan! :)

Ridiculously cute! I agree that a little hot glue was no match for this awesomeness!

Adorably cute!! I've never heard of doing it this way with sugar and water. I think a tutorial would be a great idea.
